Today's Trio: Day Three at Fall National Meeting
 

Innovation and Technology (EX) Task Force

The Innovation and Technology (EX) Task Force (meeting materials) will gather at 9:30 a.m. in 311, Level 3.

The committee will receive an update on InsurTech Connect and the Silicon Valley program from NAIC’s COO/CLO Andy Beal. The committee will hear presentations from guest innovators from Next Insurance, DropIn, Inc. and Nexar.

Michigan Insurance Director Patrick M. McPharlin, the task force’s chair, will preside over the meeting as well as lead a discussion about regulatory sandbox concepts.

The Consumer Liaison Committee

The Consumer Liaison Committee (meeting materials) will gather at 10:30 a.m. in 313AB, Level 3.

The committee will hear presentations on the following topics: maximizing states’ use of resources to better serve consumers; Hurricanes Harvey and Irma's impact on recent building codes and mitigation; transparency and accountability regarding trade secret claims; developments in health care reform; health insurance coverage of durable medical equipment; and autism and health insurance.

Colorado Insurance Commissioner Marguerite Salazar, the committee chair, will preside over the meeting.

Life Insurance and Annuities Committee

The Life Insurance and Annuities (A) Committee (meeting materials) will meet at 1 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom EF, Level 5.

The committee will consider the adoption of its working group and task force reports. The committee will receive an update on the Life Insurance Policy Locator Service, which found $92.5 million for consumers during its first year, from NAIC staff.

Nebraska Insurance Director Bruce R. Ramge is the committee chair.
